Hello Kitty on her tricycle just can’t keep up with the big girls on their bikes. The inferior quality of Mega Bloks is exposed yet again!
I despise Mega Bloks because they are so poorly made. But I do own some. If it wasn’t for their license with Hello Kitty then I wouldn’t have any at all. My love for Hello Kitty is just a bit more than my dislike for Mega Bloks. What are you thoughts on Mega Bloks? Do you own any?

We were pretty glad when “the boy” got old enough for Duplo and we could graduate from the “mega” mega blocks to Duplo – they never stayed together. Your photo makes me long for spring – which, up here in Ottawa is not quite here (expect some posts whinging about snow storms soon!) – It made me happy to see those little bikes today!

My nieces and nephews had those huge mega bloks. Very big for easy use with small hands but, yes, they don’t stay together. I’m glad you liked the photo! It seems like it is always spring time here! Definitely has its benefits but we long for real winter weather especially during Christmas. My husband grew up with snow so it just doesn’t feel right when it’s winter and it’s 80 degrees some days.

I have a few mega blok marvel mini-figs. They were in blind bags. When I got them I wondered why didn’t LEGO have the Marvel license. And a few months later then announced LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. I was very happy,
We have a few toddler mega bloks. My wife got them at a consignment sale so they were cheap. I went back a few days later and found a duplo bucket. It originally had 40 Duplo bloks. But the seller had mixed Duplo and LEGO in the bucket. The Mega don’t hold well with Duplo.

Yeah, I’m glad Lego has Marvel now. Initially I thought that if MB had a license for a theme, that Lego couldn’t. Obviously that isn’t correct. I guess if fans like the theme and it’s profitable for them, they can try to get license for a theme regardless.

There is only one LEGO and nobody who copies it can possibly compare!

I’ve not been happy with any other brand I’ve come accross.

We had a bag of Megablocks once when ES was little. I soon sold them, they are just not the same as Lego or Duplo
Grace said:
Agreed. There are some people who are completely fine with MB because they’ve not really built much with Lego or duplo. But once you do, it’s easy to feel how inferior other brands are.

i don’t think we ever really used them with the duplo we did have, but they just don’t build the same anyway

Totally prefer LEGO. When pricing for my 2 year old’s birthday, we chose Mega blocks though. Felt like a traitor, but he’ll grow out of them fast. 🙂

That’s true, the little ones will grow out of them quickly. For my daughter’s 2nd birthday, we had an activity for the children to build “Lego” cars and race them down a track. We bought a brand called Best Lock. After the party we never used them for months because of the poor quality. Thankfully, we were able to return them to Costco since they have such a good return policy.

Oh my! Where’s that cupcake top from??? I have to get it!!!! 😉
It perfectly fits our blog!!!!

Tanya, I got it when my local Lego store had their 1 year anniversary. When I spent $35, I got 3 minifigs for free and one of them was wearing that top. I don’t know if it comes in any other set. But the set I received was Lego 5000023

Thanks! I found it here listed as an upcoming set (at least for Germany… and that’s where I am right now 😉 ) … so maybe I’m lucky…

This is a truly great picture! Very well done! I especially like how the Mega Bloks Kitty is trailing behind the LEGO brand figures…kind of symbolic to me. Thanks also for showing me I was missing that cupcake torso… I had to search the internet to find one.

I’m so glad you liked this shot. It’s one of my favorites. I was trying to show how Mega Blocks is inferior and I think it turned out.
